Eid al-Fitr, Shawwal 1st, 1430 Hijri - September 20th, 2009

Locating on the parking yard LDII Islamic Boarding-School Al Barokah Seruni village Gedangan District Sidoarjo, praying Eid Al-Fitr Syawwal 1st 1430H was holding accidentally with Sunday, September 20th, 2009. About 5.000 (five thousand) people, male, female and children attended the religious ceremony that signing finishing Ramadan fasting period 1430 Hijri.

The female municipality was glorifying Allah while waiting for 1430H Eid-Al Fitr praying session.

To execute as Imam, preacher all at once a religious speaker is KH Fathur Rozi, LDII Ulema Koranic memorizer graduate from Ma'had Haram, Mosque Haram, Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Eid-Al Fitr sermon was spoken with the Arabic language

After finishing sermon with closing praying, KH. Fathur Rozi gives a religious talk. In his talk, KH Fathur Rozi explains about the meaning and understanding of the previous Arabic sermon, that contained about the matter of Ramadan fasting, Ed El Fitr and tightening relatives relationship (silaturahim).

Quoting Al Qur’an Surah Al Bakarah verse 185 he explains that the word “fasting” originally comes from the word “imsak” that means to restrain from appetite, drink and lust, starting from dawn until sunset.
There is 2 method of establishing the first day of Ramadan fasting:

1. Ru’yat Hilal = observing the new crescent moon.
Based on the phrase “fa man shahida”, mean; someone may start fasting whenever seeing the new crescent moon. The requirement that the testimony could be accepted is: Muslim, having common sense, and have been adult.
2. Hisab Hilal = calculating the new crescent moon

Based on the Koran phrase “wa litukmilul iddata”; refine the reckoning of the crescent moon(hisab hilal).

The book of “Fiqih Sunnah” explain some issues relating to Ramadan fasting, paying Zakat Fitr and tightening relatives relationship / forgive each other.

RAMADAN FASTING ISSUES

1. One deserves dispensation not to fast but have to complete fasting another different day. In this classification:

1. People who are ill but could probably recover 2. Musafir, someone who is on a journey.

2. One deserves dispensation not to fast but have to change with paying fidyah that is the penalty to feed one poor per day for every single fasting day he/she leaves. In this classification is:

1. Very old man or woman 2. One who is ill but not supposed to be recovered 3. A woman who is pregnant 4. A Mother who is suckling baby

3. One who must not be fasting but has to complete fasting on another day. The classification includes:

1. A Woman who is menstruating 3. Confinement woman 3. Allâh intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you.

4. Something allowed among fasting:

   1. Toothbrush 2. Soaking body in water 3. Tasting cooking only on tongue not passing throat 4. Something cannot be avoided, such as; To swallow saliva, mucus and phlegm 5. To inhale dust in the open air 7. To inhale flying flour

5. Something objectionable during fasting:

   1. Man and wife embrace each other especially the younger one 2. Kissing married couple 3. Cupping-glass, medical treating that weakens body 4. A part of Islamic scholars forbid medical vaccinating/injection

6. That sabotage fasting and must complete at another day :

   1. Intentionally eat and drink in the day of fasting 2. Vomiting on purpose 3. Unintentionally, eating and drinking before the breaking fasting time because of suspect the time to breakfasting on mistake 4. Istimnaa: Deliberately to sprout out semen (masturbation)

7. One sabotage fasting and must complete at another day and must compensate paying fire:

   1. Sexual intercourse married couple during fasting time.

PAYING ZAKAT ISSUES

Quoting Al Qur’an surah Al Baqarah verse 43, وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُواْ مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ KH. Fathur Rozi explained about the use of zakat::
1. Clean one’s self from useless action and indecent words
2. Result in ones’ Ramadan fasting accepted by Allah
3. It’s a kind of food charity for others

RELATIVES RELATIONSHIP ISSUES (SILATURAHIM)

Allah Messenger سلم و عليه الله صلى spoke, “Whosoever want to his/her subsistence be stretched out and the life is lengthened, he/she would better tight relatives relationship”

1. Relatives relationship presents one's subsistence
2. Silaturohim could lengthen one's life
• The real meaning: actually long life
• Cognitive meaning: flown their lasting rewards

The prophet spoke, Not who believe, ones who:

• like to accuse others badly
• like to condemn others
• like to act bed and start to act bedness”

Allah decree in Al Qur’an surah Hujurat verse 12

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا يَغْتَب بَّعْضُكُم بَعْضًا أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِيمٌ* ١٢

"O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting) {1} . And fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful”.
Kinds of backbite::

1. Inform of the word, orally speaking about others’ bedness
2. Fi’liyah: in form of action: imitating the way others speak, walk and wear in order to humiliate others

Dispensation: may discuss the lack of other people for the reason:;

1. Litahtir, warning others so he/she is cautious
2. Tabayun, telling others’ badness in order to ask for justice from the judge or other law enforcers
3. Lita’rif, telling others badness in order to explain one’s identity or feature
